The Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony 1953

George Marshall received his Nobel Peace Prize for 1953 in the auditorium of the University of Oslo on 10 December 1953, from Mr Jahn, Chairman of the Nobel Committee, in the presence of Norway's King Haakon VII. During the Prize Award Ceremony, communists protested from the gallery by shouting and throwing leaflets. General Marshall then delivered his acceptance speech.
