Buddenbrooks

It is simply splendid!
/Alonso de Gortari, 19, Mexico
An epic and a great story concerning family history.
/Kamil, 18, Poland
It is actually one of the best books I have ever read. It is
funny but of course in the typical Thomas Mann style also not easy to read, but, when you have read
the first 300 pages it begins to be good.

Death in Venice (Der Tod in Venedig)
|
Maybe one of the best representations of those dark sides of one's soul, that are lived but not accepted, and of how they make, and finish, our lives; all that thru a character and a story that could be, at a time, a symbolism game. Freezing and splendid, wonderful.

The Magic Mountain
(Der Zauberberg)
|
A deeply spellbinding book that keeps you reading and once drawn into the story it doesn't let go. The final pages manage to do the magic as the author in just a few lines puts the reader with his or her fet back on the ground.
/Leo, 43, Netherlands
This is the most interesting and sophisticated story I ever read!
/Katalin, 23, Hungary
Amazing piece of art, full of profound philosophical ideas about
almost all problems of human existence, told with sweeping enthusiasm and joy of writing. After more
than a half-year since I read it, it still makes me think about many problems in the world around.
