Read the short introductory text about the Immune System Defense Forces, and click on "Enter" to proceed.

Click on the "Information Terminal" to read background information about the immune system and the 1908 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Click on "High Scores" to see the fastest ever players. To start the game, click on "Mission Briefing".

When you have read the mission briefing text, click on "Next".

Use the "Mini Map" in the control console to locate the position of your team of immune cells in relation to the invading bacteria - green zones represent bacteria and your immune cells appear as coloured dots. You can navigate along the blood vessel either by clicking on the Mini Map or by placing the cursor at the edge of the game screen.

To move an immune cell, position your cursor over the centre of the cell, hold down the mouse button, and drag the cursor away from the cell. When you release the mouse button, the cell will travel in the opposite direction to your cursor.

Read the "Mission Update", and click on the cross in the text frame to start your mission.

In the first mission, you need to target the green bacteria by moving the yellow immune cells towards the green "dots". Start by sending the immune cells close to the splinter as quickly as possible to prevent the bacteria from spreading.

When you have successfully completed the first mission, answer the bonus question within 10 seconds - if you answer incorrectly or fail to answer within 10 seconds, you will receive a time penalty.

Read the second mission briefing and click on "Next" to proceed.

Navigate within the blood vessel and control your immune cells as previously.

Try to quickly place a few of the immune cells close to the splinter to prevent the bacteria from spreading into the blood vessel.

When macrophages and dendrites have engulfed enough bacteria they start flashing, indicating that they are ready to alert the rest of the immune system. Send the flashing immune cells to the correct organ (the lymphatic system).

13.
When you have successfully completed the second mission, answer the bonus question within 10 seconds - if you answer incorrectly or fail to answer within 10 seconds, you will receive a time penalty.
