Prize announcement
Announcement of the 2005 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel to Robert J. Aumann and Thomas C. Schelling, presented by Professor Gunnar Öquist, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, on 10 October 2005.
A presentation of the prize-awarded work was held by Professor Jörgen Weibull.
The announcement was followed by an interview with Professor Tore Ellingsen about the 2005 Economics Laureates. Interviewer is Ragnar Roos, freelance journalist.
Nobel Prizes and laureates
Six prizes were awarded for achievements that have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind. The 12 laureates' work and discoveries range from proteins' structures and machine learning to fighting for a world free of nuclear weapons.
