The Nobel Banquet 2002

Champagne is served. The banquet guests are entertained by the contemporary circus group Cirkus Cirkör (3:44). The main course is served at the end of the performance (4:51). Banquet speeches are given by the 2002 Laureates: Sydney Brenner, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine (6:28), John B. Fenn, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry (11:13) and Riccardo Giacconi, Nobel Laureate in Physics (14:46). The after dinner dancing takes place in the Golden Hall (17:42).
Nobel Prizes and laureates
Six prizes were awarded for achievements that have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind. The 12 laureates' work and discoveries range from proteins' structures and machine learning to fighting for a world free of nuclear weapons.
