Fredrik Stang got his Master of Law
in 1890. He was Professor of Law at the University of Oslo
in 1897-1932 and was the university's rector in 1921-1927.
Stang was elected to the Storting in 1905-1907. He was
chairman of Høyre, the Conservative Party in
1908-1911. He was Minister of Justice in 1912-1913 and a
member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in 1921-1941. From
1922 he served as chairman of the committee. |
