The Nobel Stamps of 1967

The stamps are printed on fluorescent paper at the Post Office Stamps Printing Works.

Engraver: The stamp-engraver Arne Wallhorn.

 

The stamps portray the Nobel Laureates of 1907:

EDUARD BUCHNER (1860–1917), professor in Berlin, Germany, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for his biochemical researches and his discovery of cell-free fermentation."

ALBERT ABRAHAM MICHELSON (1852–1931), professor at Chicago University, USA, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics "for his optical precision instruments and the spectroscopic and metrological investigations carried out with their aid."

CHARLES LOUIS ALPHONSE LAVERAN (1845–1922), professor in Paris, France, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "in recognition of his work on the role played by protozoa in causing diseases."

RUDYARD KIPLING (1865–1936), Great Britain, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature" in consideration of the power of observation, originality of imagination, virility of ideas and remarkable talent for narration which characterize the creations of this world-famous author."
