PÄR LAGERKVIST (1891–1974), a Swede and a 1951 Nobel Laureate, keeps returning to the philosophy of life in his literary style.
The American ERNEST HEMINGWAY (1899–1961), Nobel Laureate in 1954, was a master of style even in his early short stories.
ALBERT CAMUS (1913–1960), a Frenchman and a 1957 Nobel Laureate, has a philosophy connected with existentialism.
The Russian BORIS PASTERNAK (1890–1960), Nobel Laureate in 1958, is independent and cannot be placed in any group.
