The Nobel Stamps of 1996

The stamps, cancellation, and the FDC with the Nobel Forum in Stockholm (architect: Johan Celsing), were designed by Göran Österlund. Engravers: Martin Mörck and Piotr Naszarkowski.
The stamps were printed by recess at Sweden Post Stamps.

 

The stamps portray Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine:

HUGO THEORELL (1903–1982) was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1955 for his discoveries about the nature and action of oxidation enzymes.

RAGNAR GRANIT (1900–1991) studied our sense of colour and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1967.

SUNE BERGSTRÖM (1916–2004) and BENGT SAMUELSSON (born in 1934) were awarded the Nobel Prize in 1982 for discoveries about prostaglandins and simular biologically active substances.
