News from Nobelprize.org

March 28, 2008

One of our main aims at Nobelprize.org is to provide you with exclusive access to the stories and achievements behind each year’s Nobel Laureates - whether it’s telephone interviews capturing the moments directly after a Nobel Laureate has discovered the happy news, video interviews where the Nobel Laureates discuss the paths that led to their achievements, or coverage of the special Nobel Lectures where the Laureates explain and explore their inspirational work.

Now, we’ve made it easier than ever to access and relive these historic moments. Our newly launched media player, developed with the support of EDS, our global technology services partner, contains more than one hundred hours-worth of video and audio content from the archives of Nobelprize.org and Nobel Media AB, presented in a convenient format. As well as being able to access this content, our editors recommend their own particular favourites and you too can rate the videos, or you can delve into related media material for a closer portrait of the Nobel Laureates.

To provide a flavour of what is available in the new media player, we’ve listed some of our recommendations below. But this is merely a starting point for curious visitors; we hope that the wide range of content available on the media player will allow you to discover even more about your favourite Nobel Laureate on Nobelprize.org. As always, please let us know your opinion of what you find on the media player or Nobelprize.org, and of any suggestions for how we might improve the site.
