The will of Alfred Nobel that endowed the Nobel Prize named
for him restricts how resources are expended to ensure the maximum
possible value of the Nobel Prize to each year's Nobel
Laureates. As a result, the Nobel Foundation is limited in its
ability to support important, but ancillary, programs that indirectly
serve its mission.

As its official website, Nobelprize.org receives essential support from endowed funds provided to the Nobel Foundation over the years by anonymous donors, which cover costs associated with content and materials focused on current and past Nobel Laureates. Additional resources to enhance the web site, primarily the Educational Outreach Program targeting young people, come from generous corporate and private foundations (see list).
