Terms of Use for api.nobelprize.org and data.nobelprize.org

This Agreement governs the way that you are permitted to access api.nobelprize.org and data.nobelprize.org (hereby referred to as the Services below). By accessing these Services you agree to accept and abide by the terms set out in this agreement in respect of your access to and use of the data (hereby referred to as the Terms below)

These Terms may change at any time, without notice, as needs change over time and new rules need to be added for the good of the Services and its users.

Implementation Rules

The Services are free to use according to the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. In case of conflicting terms or other inconsistencies, these Terms shall prevail.

Applications that use the Services should not deliberately alter or censor the data, or deliberately mislead the end users.

Applications must not use the Services in order to discredit persons or be malicious or discriminatory in any way.

If you notice any discriminatory usage of the Services, please contact Nobel Prize Outreach.

Applications shall be constructed in a manner which minimizes the capacity burden of the API. Consider using a local cache instead of performing many API calls.

Applications must not attempt to interfere with, filter, disrupt, or disable any features of the Services.

There is no obligation to register in order to use the API, but you are strongly encouraged to do so in order to get information about changes in the Services.

Use of Trademarks

Applications and other products and services may not use Nobel Prize Outreach’s name, logos, or other trademarks in their titles or logos, or in any way that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or false association with Nobel Prize Outreach or any other association within the Nobel Foundation’s sphere.  However, you are encouraged to cite the Services as the data source for your application.

Denial and Revocation

Nobel Prize Outreach reserves the right to deny and/or revoke an application’s access for any reason. Such reasons may include that the application has been abusive or in violation of these terms or any policies.

Nobel Prize Outreach may, at its sole discretion, change or release subsequent versions of the Services, the provided data, the documentation or these terms and conditions, and require you to use and comply with the most current version.

Nobel Prize Outreach reserves the right to change, suspend or discontinue all or any aspect of the Services or the provided data at any time, for any reason.

Disclaimer

Whilst we endeavor to keep the data up-to-date and correct, we make no warranties about the completeness or accuracy with respect to the information provided. If errors are brought to our attention, we will try to correct them.

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, with no warranties whatsoever regarding its security, reliability, timeliness, availability or performance.

Limitation of Liability

You understand and agree that you use the Services at your own discretion and risk, and agree that Nobel Prize Outreach shall not be liable to you for any direct, indirect or any other damages – including but not limited to damages for loss of data, loss of profits, loss of use or loss of goodwill – resulting from the use or the inability to use the Services.

Usage Data

You understand and agree that webanalytics information about usage and any other data provided by you to Nobel Prize Outreach may be used for the purpose of administrating, supervising and rendering your use of the Services more effective.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms and conditions shall be settled in the courts of Sweden, with Stockholm district court as first  and last instance.
