2024 Nobel Prize award ceremonies

Oslo
The Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony takes place in Oslo City Hall.

Stockholm
The Nobel Prize award ceremony will take place at the Stockholm Concert Hall. After the ceremony, it will be time for the evening’s Nobel Prize banquet at the Stockholm City Hall.

The Nobel Week Dialogue is a free of charge event that is part of the official Nobel Week programme. The 2024 dialogue brings together people from across the spectrum of science, society and culture to explore the future of health. The event will explore ground-breaking medical advancements, disease prevention strategies, and innovative ways to enhance our lives.

During the Nobel Day, the museum is filled with festive activities – follow the live broadcast from the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Stockholm or join a guided tour. Curious children are welcome to explore a treasure hunt.

For the first time, the Nobel Prize Museum is displaying a large selection of items from its collection of artefacts from Nobel Prize laureates. These objects tell stories of remarkable discoveries and life achievements. More than 250 artefacts bear witness to revolutionary inventions, courageous peace efforts, groundbreaking ideas and innovative literature.
12 December
Oslo
Each year, the Nobel Peace Center creates a special exhibition about this year's peace prize, which is opened by representatives of the laureate. This year’s exhibition highlights Nihon Hidankyo and the powerful stories of the Hibakusha: the survivors of the nuclear bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. The exhibition opens to the public on 12 December.
Concert

Stockholm
Swedish soprano Malin Byström and the conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Petr Popelka, will perform at this year’s Nobel Prize Concert at Konserthuset Stockholm. The programme includes the final scene from the Richard Strauss opera Salome and will be performed together with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
Nobel Week Lights
7-15 December

Nobel Week Lights Stockholm is an annual light festival that takes place during the Nobel Week in December. Directly inspired by Nobel Prize-awarded discoveries, artworks illuminate the Stockholm winter darkness and invite new insights into the research, lives and contributions of Nobel Prize laureates. There are 60 guided tours throughout the week that are open for the public to visit.
Nobel Minds
Since the 1960s, during the Nobel Week the Nobel Prize laureates have gathered for a round table discussion for television, Nobel Minds. Programme for Nobel Minds 2024 will be published shortly.
