The theme of the floral decorations in the Blue Hall of the Stockholm City Hall this year was the Nobel medal - the round geometric form recurred in all the decorations and bouquets.

More than 13,000 flowers decorated the City Hall. Per Benjamin was in charge of the floral decorations this year, assisted by 29 florists.

The table of honour featured a flow of varoius large circle-shaped bouquets in different golden nuances: carnations, orchids, lilies, gerbera, olive leaves, bear grass and eucalyptus leaves.

The more than 60 tables in the Blue Hall were covered with some 500 metres of linen cloth and the meticulous table setting comprised no fewer than 7,000 porcelain pieces, 5,400 glasses and 10,000 items of silverware.

In the kitchen, the chefs prepared a three course dinner for the about 1,350 guests.

The menu highlighted local ingredients from Scandinavia: here ember bed roasted veal wrapped in mushrooms with celeriac and apple, and potato pithiviers.

1,350 desserts are being prepared in the kitchen.

A total of 40 chefs and 260 servers worked with the banquet meal during the evening.

The menu is revealed only when all guests have been seated at their tables.
