Dr Roze Phillips

Roze Phillips is Executive Director of value creation at the Gordon Institute of Business Sciences (GIBS). She is a passionate African futurist committed to unlocking the potential of Africa and her people.

Roze Phillips is Executive Director of value creation at the Gordon Institute of Business Sciences (GIBS), the business school of the University of Pretoria, where she is responsible for GIBS co-creating value with and for clients and ecosystem partners. She is a passionate African futurist and in addition to her work at GIBS, she practices as an African futurist and advisor on the future of workspaces, workplaces and workfaces, having had over a 25-year professional career spanning health sciences, management consulting and human capital management both as practitioner, advisor and business executive.

Working at the intersection of business, technology and innovation, Phillips works with leaders to unleash the business and societal value that can be unlocked when human ingenuity combines with intelligent machines to create abundance at work. Phillips is a frequent public speaker, expert panel member, guest lecturer and writer on the topics of Leadership for the Future, The Future of Work, The Workforce of the Future, Human Capital Management Trends and New Skills Now. Roze holds Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from the University of Cape Town and a postgraduate diploma in Futures Studies from the University of Stellenbosch.
