Junzhe (Jacky) Zhao is an MD-PhD candidate at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore.

Junzhe (Jacky) Zhao is an MD-PhD candidate at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Jointly supervised by Professor Han Chong Toh, Professor Caroline Lee and Professor Hanry Yu, his research focuses on targeting the tumour-associated macrophages (TAMs) in liver cancer to improve immunotherapy response.

He graduated with double-first master’s and bachelor’s degrees in biological and mechanical engineering from Trinity College, Cambridge. At Duke-NUS, Zhao co-founded the Oncology Student Interest Group (SIG) and participated in peer mentoring actively. Being one of the top 20 scorers in the 2014 university entrance exam (Gao-Kao) in Guangdong, China, he has received full-tuition scholarships throughout his studies from Cambridge to Singapore. His extracurricular interests are rowing, literature, and philately.
