Hanna Stjärne
Hanna Stjärne, Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation since 2025, is a prominent Swedish journalist and media executive. She has led Sveriges Radio, Upsala Nya Tidning, and SVT, focusing on digitalisation, Swedish content, and modernising public service.
Hanna Stjärne is the executive director of the Nobel Foundation since January 2025.
Stjärne is one of Sweden’s best-known journalists and media executives. She started her journalistic career as a reporter, news anchor and foreign correspondent at Sweden’s national radio broadcaster, Sveriges Radio, moving on to various management positions at the company. She was then appointed CEO and editor in chief at the newspaper Upsala Nya Tidning. During her leadership the paper was awarded several prizes, among them a prize for best digital cultural journalism.
In 2014 Stjärne was appointed CEO at the Swedish public service television company, Sveriges Television. Her leadership has focused strongly on digitalisation, strong Swedish content and creating a modern public service company that engages all of Sweden.
Stjärne has served on numerous boards in the media sector in Sweden and internationally, and she worked for several years as a foreign correspondent for the Swedish Radio in Norway.
