Tateo Arimoto is a visiting professor and the Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Research Center at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, the Principal Fellow at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and the Vice Director General at the International Institute for Advanced Studies.

Tateo Arimoto is a visiting professor and the Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Research Center at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, the Principal Fellow at the Japan Science and Technology Agency, and the Vice Director General at the International Institute for Advanced Studies. He served as the Director General of the Science & Technology Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Education. He has played an active role in public policy making in science, technology, and innovation with a multidisciplinary approach. He has been the Co-Chair of the OECD study projects on scientific advice and transdisciplinary research. He is a member of the program committee of the International Network for Government Science Advice, the United Nations Science, Technology, and Innovation for Sustainable Development Goals Forum, and the committee of Science Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
