Sir Partha Dasgupta is the Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of Cambridge. He is a fellow of the British Academy and the Royal Society, member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, US National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. His most recent book ‘The Economics of Biodiversity: The Dasgupta Review’ commissioned by the UK Treasury, presents a comprehensive economic framework for biodiversity and calls for urgent and transformative change in how we think, act and measure economic success to protect and enhance our prosperity and the natural world.

Former positions include London School of Economics, Stanford University and serving as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Beijer Institute, Stockholm. He has received numerous distinctions and awards, such as the John Kenneth Galbraith Award, European Lifetime Achievement Award in Environmental Economics, the Blue Planet Prize, the Tyler Prize, and the Volvo Environment Prize.
