Rosina Bierbaum is taking part in the Nobel Prize Summit’s academic science sessions.

Rosina Bierbaum is a professor at the University of Michigan’s School for Environment and Sustainability and the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy. Bierbaum’s experience extends from climate science into foreign relations and international development.

She chairs the Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel of the Global Environment Facility, served for two decades in the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. Government, and as the Senate-confirmed director of the Environment Division in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She served on President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Bierbaum is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Ecological Society of America, and Sigma Xi. She has lectured on every continent. She earned a BA (English) and a BS (biology), a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Ecology.
