Anita Krishnamurthi

Anita Krishnamurthi is President at the Collective for Youth Empowerment in STEM & Society. She also serves on the boards of the National Girls Collaborative Project, STEM Education Coalition and Nobel Prize Outreach.

Anita Krishnamurthi previously served as the Vice-President for STEM Policy at the Alliance from 2010-2017. Prior to rejoining the Alliance, Anita lived and worked in the UK for several years, most recently serving as the Head of Education and Learning at the Wellcome Trust, a global health philanthropy based in London. She has a PhD in Astrophysics and worked at NASA for six years at the agency’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. and at its Goddard Space Flight Center.

After leaving NASA, she served as the John Bahcall Public Policy Fellow at the American Astronomical Society. Prior to joining NASA, she worked at the US National Academy of Sciences. Anita serves on the Boards of the National Girls Collaborative Project and STEM Education Coalition in the United States and Nobel Prize Outreach in Sweden.
