Åsa Wikforss

Åsa Wikforss is a Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at Stockholm University, with a PhD from Columbia University.

Åsa Wikforss is a Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at Stockholm University, with a PhD from Columbia University. She does research in the intersection of philosophy of mind, language and epistemology and has published widely in international journals. She is the leader of a large interdisciplinary research program, Knowledge Resistance: Causes, Consequences and Cures, funded by Swedish Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, focused on the internal and external mechanisms that drive science denial.  She is the author of two popular books on the post-truth condition, Alternativa Fakta (2017) and Därför Demokrati (2021), that have been translated into many languages and received several prizes. With the publication of her popular books she has become an important voice in Sweden and beyond, with countless public appearances. Wikforss is a member of Academia Europaea, the Swedish Royal Academy of Science and the Swedish Academy.
