Leslie Brooks is a veterinarian and a current American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Her current work includes supporting global humanitarian programs that preserve food security and livelihoods, engaging in One Health working groups, and conducting a research project focused on One Health in humanitarian assistance. She is also a current Science and Technology Policy Fellow with the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research where she worked on a trans-national group project focused on circular economy approaches to wastewater treatment and reuse and engaged in a science diplomacy workshop in Uruguay. With a keen interest in diplomacy, she is also participating in a science diplomacy fellowship through the National Science Policy Network
