Petra Wadström is the inventor and founder of Solvatten - a technology that treats and heats water with the use of solar energy.
Petra Wadström is the inventor and founder of Solvatten – a technology that treats and heats water with the use of solar energy. Today Solvatten is used in over 20 countries reaching 60,000 families.
Wadström has been awarded many prizes and recognitions such as the 2008 Skapa prize, 2015 Polhem prize and 2017 EU Women Innovation prize. Petra also presented Solvatten and how it is used to improve health, empower women, saving trees and lower CO2 emissions around the world during President Obama’s visit to the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2013.
Wadström was educated as a biochemical-medical research technician at the Karolinska Institute and after several years of research in Biozentrum, Basel turned her focus to art.
