Dale (NP med 1936), director of the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology, National Institute for Medical Research, London, GB, was nominated for work upon the chemical changes at nerve endings of the autonomic nervous system. Nominator was J.M. Watt, prof pharmacology, Pharmacological Laboratory, Johannesburg, ZA. Nomination was declared invalid by the Nobel Committee.
