Motivation:J. W. Cook, prof chemistry, Dr Izrael Hieger, and Ernest L. Kennaway, prof experimental pathology, all of the Royal Cancer Hospital, London, GB, were nominated for the discovery of carcinogenic hydrocarbons. Nominator was S. Bayne-Jones. Nomination was declared invalid by the Nobel Committee.
 
Comments: The above-mentioned candidates were nominated together with C. Hewett and W. Mayneord. See nr 12-1.
