Motivation:H.P. Bowditch, prof physiology, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, US, would like to bestow the prize upon the surviving members of the late Major Walter Reed´s family, if possible, for the study on yellow fever, conducted by the medical department of the United States Army in Cuba of which Major Reed was in charge. Nomination was declared invalid by the Nobel Committee.
