Motivation:The International Committee of the Red Cross (Comité International de la Croix-Rouge) was founded in 1863 by Jean Henry Dunant. He initiated the negotiations that resulted in the Geneva Convention concerning the treatment of wounded soldiers (1864). Its aim was to help victims of war, both military personnel and civilians.
