Announcement dates set for the 2015 Nobel Prizes

The date and time for the announcements of the recipients of the Nobel Prize and the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel are now set.

The process of the Nobel Committees to independently and expertly select the 2015 Nobel Laureates is now in progress. This year’s Laureates will be announced between October 5 and 12. These are researchers, authors and peace advocates who, according to the vision of Alfred Nobel, have conferred the greatest benefit to mankind.

The prize awarding institutions have set the following dates for their announcements of the 2015 prize decisions:

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine

Monday, October 5, 11.30 at the earliest

The Nobel Prize in Literature

According to tradition, the Swedish Academy will set the date for its announcement of the Nobel Prize in Literature later.

Applications for media representatives to attend the announcements shall be made to each prize awarding institution in early fall. Detailed information will be communicated later.

Nobel Foundation

The Nobel Foundation is a private foundation established in 1900 on the basis of the will of Alfred Nobel and the founding statutes promulgated in connection with the will. Its primary purpose is to ensure that the intentions of the will of Alfred Nobel are fulfilled. The Foundation is responsible for ensuring that the assets made available for awarding the Nobel Prize are managed in such a way as to safeguard the economic base of the Prize in a long-term perspective and guarantee the independence of the prize-awarding institutions in their work of selecting Laureates.
