Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm’s Old Town has appointed a new Head of Exhibitions. Clara Åhlvik has long experience of working with exhibitions at a large number of museums and has organised many highly publicised exhibitions that have been displayed around Sweden.
“I am attracted by the boundary-breaching power inherent in the Nobel Prize, which spans everything from the tiniest little particle to the biggest issues for the future –issues that affect us on many different levels. Being able to create public exhibitions about complex issues, which at the same must be relevant in the present, is something I am more than pleased to work with,” Clara Åhlvik says.
“Clara has solid experience of exhibition management at museums and cultural institutions. She has an outstanding talent for seeing what is timely, and she will play a vital role in our efforts to attract new visitors to discover how science, literature and peace efforts contribute to a better world,” says Erika Lanner, Director of Nobel Prize Museum.
For more than 20 years, Clara Åhlvik has worked with producing exhibitions at both national and regional museums as well as independent organisations. She has curated major exhibitions such as Dinosaursand Vikingsto contemporary art at Bo01 City of Tomorrow, Craftwerk 2.0, Evil Designand the main exhibition On Stage at the newly opened Swedish Museum of Performing Arts. She has also run courses and workshops and lectured about museums and exhibitions at several universities. Her most recent position was at the Swedish National Museum of Science and Technology.
Clara Åhlvik will assume her new position as Head of Exhibitions in September, 2019.
