Herbert Blomstedt to conduct the 2019 Nobel Prize Concert

The conductor for the 2019 Nobel Prize Concert will be Herbert Blomstedt. He will lead the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at Konserthuset Stockholm on 8 December.

Herbert Blomstedt is Sweden’s most successful and respected conductor. He has been chief conductor for the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Staatskapelle, San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig. He has received many prizes and awards, among them the 2012 Serafimermedaljen.

The Nobel Prize Concert is an annual concert of a high international standard. It is part of the Nobel Week official program celebrating that year’s Nobel Laureates.

Tickets to the concert will be available on 23 May 2019. It is presented by Nobel Media in cooperation with Konserthuset Stockholm.
