Nobel Prize Dialogue comes to Spain in 2019

26 March 2018

Nobel Media and Ramón Areces Foundation have signed an agreement for a Nobel Prize Dialogue to take place in Madrid for the first time in May 2019. The one-day meeting will bring together Nobel Laureates, world-leading scientists, policy makers and a general audience to discuss new scientific and cultural perspectives on ageing.

Nobel Prize Dialogue is a cross-disciplinary meeting where important topics for humankind are explored. Similar meetings have been organized in many different countries over the last six years. Now, a meeting will take place in Spain attended by several Nobel Laureates. In connection to the Nobel Prize Dialogue, lectures will be given at universities and several smaller discussions on the theme will take place at various locations across the city.

“The Ramón Areces Foundation works successfully with stimulating interest in science as well as strengthening the exchange of knowledge and research with the rest of the world. We very much look forward to working together to create a forum focusing on how science can contribute to meeting the future challenges of an ageing population,” says Laura Sprechmann, Deputy CEO of Nobel Media.

According to Raimundo Pérez-Hernández, director of the Ramón Areces Foundation, “for our Foundation it is a great incentive to collaborate closely with a world-renowned institution in the scientific field and ratify our vocation of permanent support to science and scientists.”

A forum for scientists and non-scientists alike, the meeting aims to deepen the dialogue between the scientific community and the rest of society. The Nobel Prize Dialogue is free to attend and accessible to a worldwide audience online.
