Public activities to celebrate and understand the 2018 Prizes
In connection with this year’s Nobel Prize announcements in early October, the Nobel Center is organising a number of public events in Stockholm to celebrate and understand the 2018 Prizes. These events will include an international Teacher Summit on the theme of Teach love & understanding. During this full-day conference, teachers from all over the world will gain new strength in their important mission of promoting democracy, non-violence and long-term sustainable development and helping their pupils develop into tolerant and engaged citizens.
During the same period, the Nobel Center will also organise celebrations and lectures at a number of museums, libraries and theatres, where the discoveries and contributions of the year’s new Laureates will be explained to curious Stockholm residents, school classes and tourists.
Participants in the activities arranged by the Nobel Center will include Leymah Gbowee, 2011 Peace Prize Laureate; Martin Chalfie, 2008 Chemistry Laureate; and Wole Soyinka, 1986 Laureate in Literature.
