Prize announcement

Announcement of the 2006 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel to Edmund S. Phelps, presented by Professor Gunnar Öquist, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, on 9 October 2006.

A presentation on the prize-awarded work was held by Professor Lars Calmfors, followed by a press conference with Edmund S. Phelps.


Interview

Following the announcement, Professor Jörgen Weibull, Chairman for the Economics Prize Committee, was interviewed by freelance journalist Marika Griehsel about the 2006 Economics Laureate.
