Prize announcement
Announcement of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Barry J. Marshall and J. Robin Warren, presented by Professor Hans Jörnvall, Secretary of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine, on 3 October 2005.
A presentation of the prize-awarded work was held by Professor Staffan Normark.
The announcement was followed by an interview with Professor Staffan Normark about the 2005 Nobel Laureates in Physiology or Medicine. Interviewer was Marika Griehsel, freelance journalist.
Nobel Prizes and laureates
Six prizes were awarded for achievements that have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind. The 12 laureates' work and discoveries range from proteins' structures and machine learning to fighting for a world free of nuclear weapons.
