Bernt Ingvaldsen graduated from NTH (Norwegian Institute of Technology) in 1925. From 1929 he worked for the A/S National Industri (National Industry Ltd.) and was the company’s Director in 1949-1968.

Ingvaldsen was a member of the Storting in 1945-1973 and was one of the leading conservative politicians. He was President of the Storting in 1966-1972; a member of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in 1967-1975.
